Asulox, the professional pesticide approved for the control of Bracken in forestry and gardens based on active Asulam, has been granted an Emergency Authorisation for control of Bracken, This effectively means there is a very limited time for storage and use.
18/05/15 - Notice of Authorisation issued by CRD Start of the Emergency Authorisation period of 120 days. Storage, promotion and sales authorised.
01/07/15 - Application of Asulox (Asulam) can commence
15/09/15 - First expiry date: for sale and distribution of stocks. Storage and use of stocks can continue
31/10/15 - Final expiry date: for disposal, storage and use of stock. From 1st November 2015, it will be illegal to apply or store (Asulox) Asulam
The conditions of use have changed substantially since it was last on the market so instructions need to be studied and followed by users. It has been confirmed that an EU Emergency Authorisation for products containing the active ingredient Asulam has been granted again for 2015. This allows the application of Asulox® to control bracken in the UK during the specified period 1st July to 31st October 2015.
Anyone looking to control bracken with Asulox®, are encouraged to order as early as possible to ensure supplies of the herbicide through the limited window of approval. Orders placed after the 14th of September will not be fulfilled. Due to the Emergency Authorisation, anyone applying Asulam to control bracken in 2015 must check the terms and conditions that apply to sale, use and returns for the product.

(a) 14 September 2015 for sale and distribution of stocks
(b) 31 October 2015 for disposal, storage and use of stocks
