Now that spring is in full flow, there is already a huge surge in visitor numbers to garden centres. They expect to see an attractive and well managed plantarea as they seek new plants for the spring planting season.
Gardeners and visitors to garden centres expect to see what is in fact a 'garden' in perfect order and your plant A-Z stock beds are the flower and shrub borders. Weeds we all know will grow everywhere and a weedy garden centre looks very unsightly, untidy, unloved and not very inviting to visitors and shoppers.
Creating a pristine plantarea!
Weed control should always be a planned application rather than a reactive application. A programme of weed control should be implemented and this will involve a early spring blanket spray with a residual long lasting weed killer and also two translocated weed killer applications in the growing season. The residual weed killer application can be so effective that if there is a pallet of stock that the weed killer cannot reach when applied, once the pallet of stock is sold or moved, you will soon get a 4 foot x 4 foot square of weeds and weed grass appearing in the spring.
If you own or manage a chain of garden centres, having a weed control company treat them all makes sound economic sense and you can be assured of a weed free image being rolled out across the group when local staff may see weed control as one of those annoying tasks that is always put on the bottom of the pile. All the external plantarea needs to sprayed including stock beds and pathways and non-crop areas in between retail space. Building lines, fence lines, block paving and slab paving also, anywhere where weeds are or may be growing, especially in the tree stock area where foot traffic is less.
Ensure all areas are weed-free
Stock yards and out of public facing areas like staff rest areas that need to be weed killed are traditionally areas that are really weedy! Why should the customers be the only people who get to spend time in a nice weed free environment?
The Weed Free Team are an experienced company (32 years) in multi-site weed treatments across the country. They will draft a programme of weed control, visit sites to do an audit, provide all the health and safety information, liaise with HQ and/or individual garden centre managers. If your garden centre or nursery is in need of a weed control programme, then call/ email the Weed Free Team now.
Weed has no chance when professionals deal with it! I wish I can hire someone to take care of my garden, but infortunaly I have to deal with it by myself!
